Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is a time-sensitive, structured and skills-based therapy that has strong evidence for the treatment of depression and anxiety disorders. Each week, we will learn new strategies to cope with anxious and depressive thoughts, encourage new behaviors that challenge and overcome anxious or depressive beliefs, and incorporate mindfulness into our lives to build our capacity to stay grounded and resilient despite the challenges that we experience.
Both of my content-based CBT groups (anxiety, depression) are structured into three 4-week modules that each address depression and anxiety symptoms from a thinking, behaviour, and mindfulness perspective. Groups are composed of 10-12 people led by myself virtually over Zoom. For those who have completed one or both of my content-based groups, I offer a follow-up group as a place to continue to maintain and work on skills. There are three rotations of groups per year – generally starting in January, May, and September.
